Develop your creative and practical abilities in fashion and textiles under professional expertise in our well-equipped studio spaces.

You will be encouraged to experiment and explore ideas, as well as develop finished products from sketchbooks to final outcomes. You will explore various areas of fashion and textiles including pattern construction, garment manufacture, printed, knitted, woven and embroidered textiles. Benefiting from visits to museums, galleries and fashion trade events, which in the past have included Premier Vision in Paris and Printsource in New York, as well as visits to other European cities. You will also have the opportunity to specialise and develop further practical skills to a personal conclusion, presenting your work in exhibitions and/or on the catwalk.

Whist this is a full-time course, typically this course generally only requires 1-2 days on campus attendance, supported by self-directed study.  This means you can continue to work alongside your studies and balance other commitments.

Please be aware that the relevant employment or voluntary placement may require some form of DBS check.  You will need to arrange this directly with the placement provider, and cover any costs involved.

Requirements

You will need to have achieved 80 UCAS tariff points (or above) or an Access to HE Diploma

All applicants are required to hold GCSE English and maths at Grade C/4 or above.

Applicants who do not hold these qualifications may be considered on an individual basis based upon their overall application and the course applied for.

Progression

On successful completion of the course, graduates can move on to an appropriate progression route such as the BA (Hons) Creative Arts Practice
