The Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Engineering (General Engineering) is designed to develop you as a professional, self-reflecting individual who is able to meet the demands of employers in the rapidly evolving engineering sector.
The course is structured to cover topics such as Engineering Design, Engineering Maths, Engineering science and Engineering Projects which form the basis for your Engineering professional development and for further study. The qualification also aims to prepare and widen access to higher education for those who wish to progress to level 6, after completing their level 4 and 5 study respectively.
The units studied have been selected in association with local employers in a variety of industries, aiming to satisfy their future needs. The qualification aims to develop knowledge and skills in engineering that will allow you to make positive contributions to employers as fast as possible and so progress in a career.
Whist this is a full-time course, typically this course generally only requires 1-2 days on campus attendance, supported by self-directed study. This means you can continue to work alongside your studies and balance other commitments.

Requirements
You will need to have achieved 60 UCAS tariff points (or above)
All applicants are required to hold GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
Applicants who do not hold these qualifications may be considered on an individual basis based upon their overall application and the course applied for.
Progression
On successful completion of the course, graduates can move on to an appropriate progression route such as Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma Engineering (General Engineering)
