They work on everything from creating stunning domestic features like chimneys to tackling large-scale commercial projects, mastering a wide range of materials and techniques. Whether part of a small team or leading a larger crew, bricklayers play a key role in bringing projects to life.
With sustainability at the forefront, bricklayers are committed to eco-friendly practices, waste management, and creating safe, high-quality structures that stand the test of time. Every day brings a new challenge, making this a dynamic and essential role in the construction world. Often working outdoors and at heights, they collaborate with a variety of trades and professionals to keep projects moving forward.
Course Content:
- Lay bricks, blocks and other materials to build/repair walls and intricate features
- Ensure each job meets the standards for quality, time and safety
- Lead the planning of work sites
- Supervise teams
- Provide expert advice
Entry Requirements:
- GCSE grade 4 or Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths
If you do not possess these grades, you will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End Point Assessment.
Progression Opportunities:
- Foreman: Earn a higher salary
- Project manager: Work on larger projects
- Construction manager: Work on senior roles
