This course is designed for students who come into contact with individuals with learning disabilities as a part of their job. This includes within the local community, volunteering roles and working in education as well as employment support and leisure activities.
The course covers what it means to have a learning disability, the support that is available, relevant legislation and communication methods.

In addition to the formal lessons, individual tutorials and careers advice sessions are held with you throughout the course.

You can progress on to a range of other qualifications at Level 2 or above.

*This course is £369.50, however, fee remission may be available subject to your personal circumstances and residency requirements (for non UK Nationals).

Please note, this course is subject to validation. 

Requirements

A sufficient understanding of maths and English Language is needed to cope with the demands of the course. All students will undertake diagnostic assessment to assess these skills during the course interview or induction process and you will be required to demonstrate that you can work at Level 1.

Assessment

Formative assessment will take place throughout the course with a final portfolio of evidence produced at the end. There are no examinations on this course.
