The BA (Hons) Applied Care Practice Progression Route is relevant to practitioners working with people of all ages within the care sector, and also to those who manage provision in the public, private and voluntary sectors. The applied nature of the degree provides theoretical knowledge along with practical application related to social care in contemporary society. The programme has been developed to allow those in the care sector to further develop existing skills. It provides opportunities for you to develop a broad range of practice skills, knowledge and understanding within key subject areas and to acquire and enhance your professional values. You are expected to be in paid or voluntary work in a relevant setting for at least 10 hours per week.
This Progression Route is a one-year course for those who hold a relevant Foundation or equivalent to gain a BA (Hons) degree.
Whist this is a full-time course, typically this course generally only requires 1-2 days on campus attendance, supported by self-directed study. This means you can continue to work alongside your studies and balance other commitments.
Modules you may study include:
- Social Policy and Practice
- Transitions and Lifespan Development
- Developing Leadership in Practice
- Negotiated Project
This course is due to move to The Place – our new university centre opening in Great Yarmouth town centre – in 2025!
