We will soon be offering two levels of British Sign Language – Level 1 and Level 2.

These will be approx. 30 week long courses offering the opportunity to introduce yourself to the basics of British Sign Language or further your current knowledge.

You will need to be able to commit to each lesson to ensure that you gain all of the skills required to achieve the final assessment.

Some key topics which will be covered are: addressing and greeting people in BSL, fingerspelling for people and places and learning numbers relating to people, time, money and dates.

Requirements

A sufficient understanding of maths and English Language is needed to cope with the demands of the course. All students will undertake diagnostic assessment to assess these skills during the course interview or induction process and you will be required to demonstrate that you can work at Level 1.

Assessment

Formative assessment will take place throughout the course with a final filmed assessment at the end of the course.
