This course is designed to give an overview of business and retail and the skills required to work in these environments.

Units you may study include:

  • Communication skills for work
  • Working in business and retail
  • Working with customers

In addition to the formal lessons, individual tutorials and careers advice sessions are held with you throughout the course. 

Requirements

A sufficient understanding of maths and English Language is needed to cope with the demands of the course. All students will undertake diagnostic assessment to assess these skills during the course interview or induction process and you will be required to demonstrate that you can work at Entry 3. 

Assessment

Formative assessment will take place throughout the course with a final portfolio of evidence produced at the end. There are no examinations on this course. 

Progression

You can progress on to a range of other qualifications at Level 1 or above.
