This course is designed for those aged 19 or over who are working in the sector, who would like to return to education and have a genuine interest in working in the health or childcare sector.
On completion of this course, you will achieve a Level 2 Certificate in a range of units including:
- Safeguarding and Prevent
- Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health
- Understanding Common Childhood Illnesses
- Understanding Behaviour that Challenges
- Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences
- You will also achieve an award in Forest Schools
The course will prepare you to progress to higher level courses in relevant subject areas.
The course will start in September 2024 and run for 36 weeks. You will attend college on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm to 9pm.

Assessment
You will be assessed through online course work and exams.
Progression
You can progress onto higher level courses such as a Level 3 Access programme.
