 This course is designed for students looking to develop their textiles and craft skills. Units will cover how to use different materials, tools and equipment to develop craft techniques as well as creating and presenting a final textiles item. This may take the form of weaving, sewing, knitting, crochet or collage. 

In addition to the formal lessons, individual tutorials and careers advice sessions are held with you throughout the course. 

You can progress on to a range of other qualifications at Level 2 or above.

 This course is due to start in September at The Place.

Requirements

A sufficient understanding of maths and English Language is needed to cope with the demands of the course. All students will undertake diagnostic assessment to assess these skills during the course interview or induction process and you will be required to demonstrate that you can work at Level 2. 

Assessment

Formative assessment will take place throughout the course with a final portfolio of evidence produced at the end. There are no examinations on this course.
