Course: UAL Art & Design Diploma Level 2

Embark on a creative journey with our Art and Design Level 2 Diploma!

Are you passionate about art and design? Do you want to build your drawing and painting skills, experiment with 3D mediums, and immerse yourself in a world of creativity? Then look no further! Our art and design course is perfect for learners who are eager to explore their artistic talents and unleash their creative potential.

You could be a beginner or hobby artist who wants to explore new art techniques or want to connect with other artists and designers. This course is ideal if you want to move to the next stage in your career or personal artistic goals.

This course is designed to help you develop core drawing and painting skills, as well as gain knowledge and experience in a variety of 3D mediums. From screen printing to ceramics, casting to sculpture workshops, and textiles to art history, there is something for everyone to enjoy and learn from. It will also help you begin to develop related technical skills, acquire knowledge into the work of others and build a portfolio of art and design work to give you further creative opportunities.

Through collaboration, confidence-building exercises, creative passion and enthusiasm, our experienced tutors will guide you every step of the way. You will have the opportunity to participate in art and design trips, hands-on workshops, and explore different artistic techniques that will enhance your skills and ignite your imagination.

You will study eight units across a range of assignments which include:

• Art History
• Observational Drawing and Painting
• Developing and Exploring Creative ideas
• Experimentation across a variety of Mediums, Techniques and Themes
• Visual communication and Narrative
• Critical writing and Evaluation

Over the duration of the year you will build a beautiful portfolio, accumulating in a group end of year exhibition.

This course takes place at our Lowestoft campus on Fridays from 9.30am-3pm, with a half an hour lunch break. The next intake is September 2024.
