Last week saw the launch of exciting new local production company, Active Media Productions (AMP), by staff and students of the BA Visual Effects and Post-Production course based at East Coast College’s Great Yarmouth campus.
Having been developed in response to the increasing level of demand for promotional video content in the region, the project will benefit local businesses and community projects who may not have the budget to hire a professional video company, whilst providing students with a real-life working environment during their course.
The launch saw a number of local businesses and community leaders present to support the project’s innovative approach to the growing demand for digital content. Course leader and founder of AMP, Phil Bury, said:
“We have been producing films in the region for many years for local businesses and community projects, having produced films for the Time and Tide Museum, Seachange Arts, GYBC, MAP, Mandalay Wellbeing, and many more. It is a credit to the students who I have had the privilege to work with, that we are able to combine the resources and talent at East Coast College to take the next step with launching our new production company, AMP.”
Excited for the impact that AMP will have on harnessing local talent, first year Level 4 student on the degree course, Jenny Brooks, commented
“Having our own production company will mean having more opportunities for experience in the industry. It also means that we can learn the ‘ins and outs’ from the start of a project to the end, whilst getting to work closely with clients.”
