We can advise on the most practical and cost effective travel solution. The college may be able to help students with the cost of all methods of transport through our Discretionary Support Funding.


Travel by Bus

The main bus company that operates in the surrounding area is the First Group.

You may like to approach the bus/ coach service that travels near to where you live to find out more.

A range of tariffs and tickets are available including the Student Savers which can be purchased per term or per academic year.

East Coast College is ideally located close to the Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth town centres, with transports links from surrounding towns and villages.

Subsidised Transport

Both Suffolk and Norfolk County Council offer post-16 transport schemes. This could offer a subsidised travel solution or provision for eligible students living over three miles from college.

Students should be mindful that although subsidised travel could be offered to them on public transport routes it may be a more cost-effective to pay for this direct to the provider.


Travel by Train

Travel by Bicycle, Motorbike, Moped and Car

The college has free on-site parking. There are accessible bays as well as the provision to park motorcycles and bicycles.

Students should be mindful and considerate of parking restrictions in the surrounding residential area.
